The CSE is a member of the UN Global Compact, which underscores our commitment to universally accepted principles in the fields of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. We are committed to improving continually our environmental performance, prevent pollution and to act beyond the compliance of all applicable laws and regulations.
In 2006, we introduced a Green Office Policy with an eye toward minimizing our environmental footprint. We have programs in place to reduce and recycle waste and cut carbon-dioxide emissions. We operate programs to offset any unavoidable carbon-dioxide emissions.
Specifically, we:
Initiate efforts towards reporting environmental standards of our organization and encourage all our stakeholders to do the same
Consult with stakeholders regarding the development of common environmental activities
Communicate the aim of our conservation and recycling efforts to employees, stakeholders, clients and suppliers
Offset carbon-dioxide emissions through carbon reduction and neutralizing activities
Purchase environmentally friendly products wherever possible.
Strive to minimize energy use
Promote environmentally friendly technologies to our clients
Develop our products and services in a more environmentally friendly manner
Our Actions
The CSE was certified as a climate neutral organization by Swiss non-profit firm myclimate in October 2007. Our unavoidable Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions were offset through myclimate carbon offset projects - renewable energy projects in developing countries.
We keep records of energy use, business travels, and water and paper consumption to measure our carbon-dioxide emissions. Along with our offsetting activities, we are dedicated to an environmental management strategy with the goal of minimizing our environmental footprint.
Recycling
We believe in the mantra of reduce, reuse, and recycle. We have separate recycling bins for glass, paper, plastic and metals strategically located throughout our office.
Office Supplies
The CSE has a policy of purchasing environmentally friendly products wherever it is practical. We want our environmentally friendly practices to serve as an example to others, and disseminate related information to our stakeholders and the communities in which we operate.
We publish details of our environmentally friendly programs in our annual sustainability report.
